Nerds of the Pit is an actual play TTRPG podcast recorded in a literal basement in Vergennes, Vermont. We're just a flock of enthusiastic nerds who love roleplaying games, joking around, and laughing uncontrollably.

The "Pit" is Brett's basement studio where he does everything from professional photography and printmaking to running a multi-year D&D campaign for a the Pit Nerds.

How Did This Start?

During the COVID pandemic of 2020 when school was remote and all summer activities were cancelled, Space Pope Brett and Sam "Sarlacc" Pit ran D&D games for the neighborhood kids out of the garage. Twice a week, 5-10 kids showed up to play in an imaginary world and socialize in a real world turned upside down.

Once the pandemic was over, the adults kept the tradition going with a 4-year-long D&D campaign in Icewind Dale. It was such a great joy (and the most they laughed all week) that they decided to record their sessions and release them to the world…which may be a mistake. We'll see.
